One of four AMP Energy cars Earnhardt will race this year, the AMP Energy 7-Eleven Chevy features the bold new design of the AMP Energy can. This version will also be the only one to carry the 7-Eleven on the hood and rear quarter panels.
Dale Earnhardt Jr and the #88 will get AMPed up in 2012 when NASCAR's most popular driver wheels a special paint scheme in four races. At Martinsville Speedway, Earnhardt will put the hammer down in the #88 Amp Energy Chevrolet - a cool new design that replicates the new AMP Energy can.

Four years after making waves in NASCAR by signing on as the primary sponsor of Dale Earnhardt Jr., Amp Energy is phasing its brand off the car of the sport's most popular driver. PepsiCo is expected to announce this week that Diet Mountain Dew will replace its Amp Energy brand as Earnhardt's primary sponsor for 16 races in 2012. The company has the primary sponsorship rights for 20 total races on the #88 car, and Amp will serve as an associate sponsor while also appearing on the hood for the other four races.

The No. 88 Amp Energy/National Guard Chevy will take the track in a striking silver paint-out. Bristol Motor Speedway celebrates 50 golden years of racing in 2011. At the Bristol Motor Speedway Night Race on August 27, Earnhardt will mark that milestone anniversary with the #88 AMP Energy - Bristol 50th Anniversary Chevrolet - a car that's bound to gleam like precious metal under the Bristol lights. Diet Mountain Dew offered JR Nation a once in a lifetime opportunity to design Dale Jr’s No.88 paint scheme for the upcoming race in Phoenix. Consumers were able to visit paintthe88.com and customize their own paint out for Dale Jr. In August 10 finalist were chosen and Dale Jr picked the winner in September. Over 10,000 individual entries were submitted and the winner will be on track November 14th in Phoenix, Arizona.

Jr., who made his 308th career start on Sunday, visited Victory Lane for the first time since May of 2006 and by doing so, broke a two year winless streak. The win was Jr.'s first Cup victory at Michigan and was the first time in his career that he won on Father's Day which, ironically, came 10 years later than he expected - and in a different series. Junior nearly beat his father, Earnhardt Sr, in the IROC Series' 1999 race at Michigan. Instead, Senior claimed the victory that day by a two-foot margin. To add to the Father's Day lore, Junior's 76 race winless streak ended with the exact number of wins that his famous father posted in his illustrious career.
