In 2008, in an effort to celebrate the legacy of Dale Earnhardt among his millions of fans and introduce the man known as
“The Intimidator” to millions of new NASCAR fans, Motorsports Authentics is launching a two year program pairing NASCAR’s
most famous driver with other rugged enduring legends from the entertainment world. By featuring singers, songwriters, actors and
other icons on the hood of Earnhardt’s famous No. 3 Goodwrench Chevrolet, NASCAR’s fans old and new can remember and
learn respectively what the “Man in Black” was all about. In addition to a personal connection, Dale also shares iconic characteristics
with the legends that will be featured on the cars throughout this series.

This multi-year program will be kicked off with three very special paint schemes,
one featuring Johnny Cash, one featuring John Wayne and one featuring Elvis.
Johnny Cash will be the first car in this series.

   Earnhardt and Cash's likeness was unveiled on a black No. 3 car on Thursday, June 5, 2008 that will take a parade lap around the speedway and be sold as diecast by Motorsports Authentics.
   The show car was unveiled in front of the Country Music Hall of Fame. Among those attending were Taylor Nicole Earnhardt, the seven-time Cup champion's 19-year-old daughter, and Tommy Cash, the brother of the deceased country music legend.
   Although Earnhardt and Cash never met, Taylor said Cash was Earnhardt's favorite singer.
"This is the first time my dad has been on a race car," she said, recalling early morning pickup truck drives with her dad listening to Cash on the radio. "I'm sure he would think it was really cool to be on there with Johnny Cash."

To perpetuate the legacy of Dale Earnhardt among his millions of loyal fans and introduce the man known as "The Intimidator" to new fans, the Legends Series was born. The "Dale and the Duke" paint scheme features one of Dale Earnhardt's heroes, John Wayne, who epitomized rugged masculinity and has become an enduring American icon on the hood of the famous No. 3 Chevy

By featuring Elvis Presley on the hood of Earnhardt’s famous No. 3 Goodwrench Chevrolet, NASCAR’s fans, old and new, can remember and learn respectively what both were all about. In addition to a personal connection, Dale also shares iconic characteristics with Elvis that make this program something any NASCAR or Elvis fan can relate to.
