Dale will drive this special "National Guard Heritage" Impala in the July 2nd "Coke Zero 400" at Daytona International Speedway. It features modern camo, distinctive black and all-American red. The camo pattern emblazoned on the car matches the modern uniform pattern that is currently issued to Guard soldiers serving in Afghanistan.

Diet Mountain Dew offered JR Nation a once in a lifetime opportunity to design Dale Jr’s No.88 paint scheme for the upcoming race in Phoenix. Consumers were able to visit paintthe88.com and customize their own paint out for Dale Jr. In August 10 finalist were chosen and Dale Jr picked the winner in September. Over 10,000 individual entries were submitted and the winner will be on track November 14th in Phoenix, Arizona.

These 8 Soldiers all contributed a great deal of sacrifice and selfless service for others, by serving in domestic and overseas missions for their country. In honor of these Soldiers, and the other men and women who serve in the National Guard, the #88 Chevrolet was designed to commemorate and honor their heroic efforts and service.

Jr., who made his 308th career start on Sunday, visited Victory Lane for the first time since May of 2006 and by doing so, broke a two year winless streak. The win was Jr.'s first Cup victory at Michigan and was the first time in his career that he won on Father's Day which, ironically, came 10 years later than he expected - and in a different series. Junior nearly beat his father, Earnhardt Sr, in the IROC Series' 1999 race at Michigan. Instead, Senior claimed the victory that day by a two-foot margin. To add to the Father's Day lore, Junior's 76 race winless streak ended with the exact number of wins that his famous father posted in his illustrious career.
